Service Description
Crochet at NYAS encourages a bold, colourful and ultimately fresh approach to a practical art form which became popular in the 1800s. The aim of this class is to give people that have never crocheted before the practical skills to get started with basic technique progressing to more complex stitches and patterns. It will also provide those with previous experience an opportunity to hone, build and share knowledge in a new and invigorating environment. In fact, we have a woolly vision we’d like you to help us with. We need the help of crocheters to be a part of our new forthcoming online shop, dedicated to all things crochet. We want to make and sell the sorts of practical, affordable clothing people like, such as: Hats, snoods, scarves, ear warmers, slippers and more besides. If you attend regular crochet meetings and classes at NYAS, you can create garments using our materials. You can follow patterns we have available, help us look for new ones or create your own. Come along and create with likeminded crocheters, share ideas, experiment and try something new. Everyone is welcome from beginners to the more advanced. We provide a warm space, tuition, materials, tea coffee and biscuits. Booking is essential as places are limited. Taught by Andrew Perkins, Darja Savonina and Lisa Silver.
