Service Description

In this half-day workshop you will learn how to weave using a simple frame loom and have the freedom to design your own bespoke woven wall hanging. You will be shown a range of different techniques that you can incorporate as you wish whilst having access to a wide range of yarns, both synthetic and natural in lots of different colours and textures. There will be group demonstrations as well as one-to-one support throughout the workshop. This workshop is perfect for beginners. All equipment and materials are provided for use during the workshop. Agnis is a designer, maker, researcher, educator based in Yorkshire specialising in woven textiles. She produces hand-woven products as well as facilitates opportunities for people to explore traditional textiles processes for themselves. Agnis graduated from Cumbria Institute of the Arts in 2009 with a BA in Contemporary Applied Arts. and has gone on to complete an MA in Artist Teacher and Contemporary Practices in 2017 from Goldsmiths, University of London. Refreshments provided.
