Service Description
Create up to two hanging Christmas decorations or a festive tea light holder What does the workshop cover? You will cut glass and experiment with glass frit, stringers and confetti to create a range of Christmas pieces such as snowmen and Christmas trees. You will be taught about the fusing process, so this course is ideal for beginners and improvers who want a creative, festive evening out! You will learn which types of fusing glass and embellishments are compatible and then create your designs. These will incorporate hanging loops in order for you to display them when they are finished. You will be encouraged to try some practical experiments and will benefit from the technical information and supervision provided by your tutor. Your pieces will be fired, in a kiln, and returned to NYAS, for you to collect. NOTE: Due to the firing and cooling down processes involved with all glassmaking it is not possible for participants to take work home on the day it is made. Work needs to be fired and cool slowly in a kiln. What do you need to bring? Just bring yourself, your enthusiasm and a pair of closed-toed shoes (no open-toed footwear). All of your materials and tools will be provided. Refreshments provided.
