What People Say About
North Yorks Art School
I have attended various classes at North Yorks Art School. I find them as a group uplifting, encouraging and inspiring.
The friendly community at North Yorks Art School made me feel welcome and relaxed from the outset and I'm planning on taking more classes.
Supportive teacher, great artistic vibe and creative community that inspires you to do more. Highly recommended to anyone interested in art
I recently took two courses at NYAS: a six-week printmaking course (6 x 4hrs) run by Wendy Tate, and a six-hour mosaic workshop run by Sue Kershaw. Both were excellent and suitable for any degree of experience; all materials, tools etc. were provided, as was a light lunch during the mosaic workshop. I intend to continue with both printmaking and mosaics in the future.
I have attended drawing and painting classes. They have a friendly and encouraging atmosphere, in a lovely setting. I always enjoy the classes and have found them a good antidote to stress!
A fantastic venue for The Totally Negative Film Photography workshop. The day included a photo walk around the South Cliff area of Scarborough and then learning to develop film. The course leader Bob Smith was incredibly knowledgeable and passed on the magic of film photography in a very interesting and instructive way. A great workshop for those who want to get into film photography and developing.
I try to attend the Portrait or Life Drawing sessions at least once a week and look forward to these classes immensely. I’m a total novice but haven’t been made to feel like one!
Really enjoyed the glass fusion class with Christine. Perfect day. I learnt so much and Christine has so much knowledge and skill that helped to produce a piece that actually looked like my image.
I’ve enjoyed print classes and life drawing classes, I felt very welcome and am impressed by the vision of the place and the teaching is great. I will definitely be returning
Loved the course. Learnt different techniques that I will use in the future. Class size just right enabling the tutor to give enough time to everyone.
